Photos will be entered in all relevant categories:
- Open (taken since Fathers Day 2011)
- History (taken before Fathers Day 2011)
- Photo featuring 10-18 year old male or female
- Best photo plus story by Open, primary or secondary student - max 250 words can be hand written on A4 page (3 prizes given)
- Best Secondary School aged Photographer
- Best Primary School aged Photographer
- Photo featuring an grandfather or older male who is not the main carer
- Photo taken of a sporting activity
- Organisers' choice of favourite photo from any category
- Peoples Choice Prize chosen by voters at exhibitions at libraries, shopping centres, schools and community venues around Australia
